The Scarcity of Miracles
This work is a memento to the people caught up in the Ukraine conflict: to those, who are killed and those, whose bodies could not ever be found or identified. Meanwhile there are onlookers -waiting for a miracle?! -, the rest of us. It is about the pain of not knowing, the sacrilege, and the denial of the last rituals, the ultimate horrors of war. Therefore, this work is also about the survivors, for whom there is not going to be closure. For every one miraculous escape, there are the uncountable unaccounted-for... So many, who are denied even the possibility of paying Charon, the ferryman.
I borrowed the title from the King Crimson’s piece, hope they don’t mind. It just seemed so fitting.
